How to Help Customer to Realize LED Scoreboard Retrofit
1. Context
From our USA customer below:
This customer would like to keep the steel structure of their existing scoreboard and replace the guts due to permitting issues. The track is by an airport that is preventing them from getting a permit for a new scoreboard. They are hoping to work with what they have. Is this something we could help them with?

2. Challenge
The customer didn’t have detailed structure diagrams but only can measure the existing bulb size.
I don’t have any detailed structure diagrams but this might help, each digit is 3” deep and on a removable panel. The entire structure is about 6″ deep. I was thinking (depending on how the LED digits get secured) I would remove all the bulbs and secure the new digits on the original panel with standoffs.
I attached an older picture of the scoreboard before we cleaned it up but it gives some view of the backside of the structure.
I feel that we should be able to get up to 22″ digits though if we are on the custom size anyhow.

3. Result
As our standard casing can’t satisfy the existing scoreboard size, we have to custom our casing in a limited size, by locking screws in the front of digits, and put power supply and controller in separate tray with installation holes.

4. How We Did It
What we propose, is to make cabinets like this, to replace the present removable panel and the bulbs.
Firstly, the customer needs to fix the cabinets to the present structure with the installation holes highlighted in red circle:
Secondly, as the control card and power supply are not inside the cabinet, the customer needs to find place to fix the control card and power supply in the present structure.
At the same time, the customer needs to find a way to get the data and power cables connected between the digits as below electronic drawing:
